How Do I Download Excel On My Mac
When I download Excel files from a few different web applications, I am unable to open the files via Excel for Mac (2010). Excel opens the file and seems to think it's an XML file or something, and shows Mime header info in the first few rows and the remaining data in a raw format in the following rows. This only seems to happen with the larger Excel files that I download. Smaller files seem to open without issue.

I was following a thread on the previous forum site that seems to have disappeared, and an MS Office for Mac exployee responded that they are aware of the issue. I tried a few workarounds posted on the previous forum site, but they don't seem to work that well with this much data (20megs+). If anyone has any insight on this issue or is MS could provide an update on the status of a resolution, I'd greatly appreciate it. My file too had an.xls file extension with a header inside indicating that it was Mime Version 1.0.
